The wedding happened as evidenced by the flood of pics posted. I do believe the blog has served its purpose. I for one had a lot of fun contributing to it and hope some of the other folks contributing to it did as well. My attempts to get mom and dad write to the blog were total disasters:) but what is left is quite good, methinks. And rather then let it die an anonymous death, I'd like to give it decent burial. So here it goes...

Here in this blog lie some words, thoughts and photos that attempted to collect the moments before BMM and Div began a new life. May their life together be everything they ever dreamt of and more. And so, the life of this blog was useful and happening while it lasted. May it rest in peace.

Happy b'day Ma!

Confirmed tickets today. Yay.. we are going to India.. and the luggage weight limit has not changed for the airline.. dbl yay! ...
uma gets a couple shots on friday...poor kid.. I hope the pedicure makes up for the pain, I'll throw in a couple ice creams and no homework for two weeks.. that ought to cheer her up.

all of us here are waking up with scratchy throats... I hope the whole brood is not sick when we land ...

but we are going to India.. yay! only two day now...

TENNNN it is !!!!

yup just 10 days to the wedding and 4 days before we leave for India . paro rani seems to have finsished all her packing and that psyched me because I havent started yet .

Still need to confirm the tickets and check for international baggage allowance ..

Phew !!

10 days to the wedding!

and three days till we leave..
guess what? miss-no-procastination is all packed and ready to go.
tickets?- check
travellers checks? - check
gifts? - check
camera?- check
bags packed? - check

Now, the not so bright side. I was going to take one suitcase and two carry-ons. me and uma had previosuly dumped all the clothes on my bedroom floor. We started packing, the suitcase was full by the time we were doen with the clothes.. what about the gifts, the medicines, the accessories and the SHOES?
so, we dragged the second suitcase upstairs to pack.

Important statistics:

between me and uma we are taking:

12 pairs of shoes ( not including the pair we will be wearing)
20 outfits each
30 pair of socks ( mostly uma)
12 shades of lipsticks ( mostly me )
four books ( to read en-flight)
a pack each of crayons and markers
two notebooks for notes ( one for each of us)
and
One teddy bear.

I am happy to be done :)

11 days to go

today is the 7th of November already and we leave this saturday to go to India .Excitement is immense ...both of being with the family and the icing on the top is ofcourse, Bmm's wedding .

Finally , shopping is all done .and it would be no exaggeration to say that our apartment is overflowing (literally) with stuff that needs to be packed :gifts, clothes, shoes, knick knacks ..you name it , its there ...Me , Uma , didi and Pankaj all had our haircuts and look like shorn sheep .

I know 15 days will pass by like the batting of an eyelid but the memories will stay .

So cheers to the trip, the wedding and fresh additions to our lifetime album of memories....

11 days to the wedding!

more than 50% of the invitations have gone out .. mm and I have started the mammoth task of packing. bmm seems to have disappeared ... everyone is busy ...
I need to do some last minute sewing to fix some of uma dresses...
four more days of work .. I can hardly wait :)

There have been multiple weddings in the extended family in the last four years. So the I expect the landscape to be changed quite bit... uma is going to be old enough to actually participate this time.
I can't seem to separate the wedding from the 'visit to india' excitement for me .. we have been watching hindi movies for the past couple of weekends .. with the puja and then diwali the mood has become more and more nostalgic.
and I can't write coherently anymore :)

A week to go!!!

i got my haircut today and minu gets her's tommorow.. panku and uma got theirs last week ... the whole pack of the shorn sheep going to India.. tra la la ♪ ( and a bottle of rum ♪).

Alright I am short on words and today, on photus too.

15...picture time

Didi posted some pictures yesterday ......and i loved the one of the three bandars so Iam going to post my version today ..

Uma was a little over two and we were brand new as a couple ....And we were visiting didi for the first time ..She took around places and we went to the univesrity of Washington where Uma was in this adorable Black fur coat .She could not speak too much that time , and her little rag doll that she called "babu"in her tow. Her pigtails which we referred to as "fountains",the antics and the duck waddle just increased the cuteness factor exponentially..

Well , when we reached the University of Washington to watch the beautiful cheery trees in bloom, Uma ambled on for a while with us and then decided to leave with another couple...

I still recall didi chasing her and Uma running away faster ...It was hilarious ..I was a top one of the trees and remember almost falling down from the laughter ..

Ok ,people .We need to cheer up..especially the bride and groom .Agreed , theres lot of work and tension and Visa problems but I hope you both are feeling estatic and looking forward to a very rosy future...Everything will be good .. and fine .Also one of the baraatis seems to have fallen sick .I hope Paro rani recovers in time and writes more lively blog entries.Her blog entry today sounded exhausted . Meeting her today confirmed my apprehension .She is indeed not well and needs to rest :-(

A post a day ...

I have a diwali resolution... from now until I leave for India a post a day... i am not sure how the internet access is going to be when I am in fbad. As far as writing is concnerned make up stuff if you can't think of anything ... I am sure I’ll surprise myself, my fingers seem to find a life of their own when it comes to writing.. Often to my surprise... I wrote that? And how did that happen?
(A warning, not all surprises of this type are pleasant in nature )... I know, very Freudian.

So, not much to write today as I spend most of yesterday sleeping, don't know if I have caught a bug... or it was the result of utter exhaustion. I have been driving myself too hard lately.

The first few hours of today were good but whatever 'it' is... seems to catching up with me... I might end up going home early today too.

Not looking forward to the long flight to India. Plane rides are awful, esp. if I have been sick ... 11 days before I leave.



Also, in attempt to add color to the blog, I will post my favorite pics of the family.

18 days to go...Euphoria and Anticipation

Paro and Bmm have officially embarassed me by putting such a nice description of me....I think yehi fayada hota hai apna introduction na likhney ka

18 days left today ....wow!! time does fly fast but then that was never a mystery ...

The euphoria in my title comes from another successful party we threw to celebrate diwali this past saturday ...LOTS of people came , there was great food courtesy paro , great decoration courtesy panku and I pitched in here and there too ..

There was an arti , followed by food and then jua (teen patti) , we ended the day with the game villagers and mafia .The evening was fun filled with everybody aahing and ooing over the gazillion diyas , the authentic diwali decor and ambience and ofcourse great food .

End result -we were all pleased with our hard work ....and did I say TIRED .Looking forward now to the next bash already.

The anticipation in the title comes from the India trip. Iam looking forward to Bmm's wedding .Shopping is almost all done ...I am still a little bit behind but trying my damndest .There will fun , happy times , dancing and forging of life long new relationships...

I looked at BMM 's work on his house , the pictures I mean ..everything looks great ,little brother .Hope you have great times in that cosy place and make great memories ..

Uma by now has some twenty songs she has ready to dance on ... Iam swamped , worked up, worked out and confused on how time just flits away ........

18 days!!

wow, it is down to 18 ...
where did the time go? Just one weekend left till we leave, while that is exciting.. it stresses me out :) I haven't started packing and work has been crazy, and it is promises to keep being crazy till the moment I leave.
We had the diwali soirée this weekend, my whole house smells of food and I have like five garbage bags full of stuff to throw out, nu mashi did lo0vely rangoli and panku did a great job of decorating the place. We played teen pati in honor of the occasion and had some good food.
Time changed to daylights saving this weekend, which means we got an extra hour in our weekend. But I am dead tired ... or maybe it is just monday morning blues.
Uma got dressed up in the 'princess' costume today to go to school. It is halloween today and kids get to go school all dressed up :). She was so excited and got ready in record time.
Last night, before Nu mashi left, uma and nu mashi had a conversation:

bye uma, see you next weekend.
bye nu mashi, but I will be with daddy, next weekend.
Oh, then the weekend after that, but we leave that weekend... wow, next tiem we meet we'll be going to india!!!

20 days to go.

I have been missing ina ction many days and I intend to make up for it ... the dday and our flight keep getting closer and theres tonnes of work to be done

packing , I still have gifts to buy , grooming , exercise , etc etc etc ....antd I still have my proposal to be sumbitted ..hey bhagwan , so much work and so little time

We are celebrating diwali today ..we are epecting about 20 people ...Have everything to do from buying groceries, cooking , decorating ...will take all the time we have ..but I look forward to it and organising it

It should be fun
